Vice President Expresses Grief Over Fatal Road Accident on Bavla–Bagodara Highway

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar conveyed his heartfelt sorrow on Friday following a tragic road accident that claimed multiple lives on the Bavla–Bagodara highway in Ahmedabad.

In a devastating incident earlier today, a vehicle carrying 23 passengers en route to Ahmedabad from Rajkot collided with a parked truck on the roadside due to a puncture. The collision resulted in the loss of 10 lives, including three children, five women, and two men. Additionally, two individuals sustained severe injuries.

Ahmedabad SP Amit N Vasava provided details, explaining, “Today in the daytime, an incident took place in which a truck was parked at the roadside due to puncture and a vehicle was going to Ahmedabad from Rajkot and the passengers travelling in the vehicle belong to Kheda village… The vehicle collided with the truck parked by the roadside which led to the death of passengers. A total of 10 people have died including five females, two males and three children.”

An ongoing investigation into the matter involves the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), as stated by the police officer. The circumstances surrounding the accident are under scrutiny to determine the sequence of events leading to the tragic outcome.

Vice President Dhankhar took to social media, expressing his profound sadness over the incident. In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), he shared, “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in a tragic road accident on the Bavla–Bagodara highway in Ahmedabad. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray for the swift recovery of those who have been injured.”

The nation mourns the loss of lives in this heart-wrenching accident, while hopes and prayers are extended for the recovery of those injured. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while traveling on highways.
