Tragic House Collapse Claims Five Lives in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

In a tragic incident, a house collapse in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has resulted in the loss of at least five lives from the same family, as confirmed by the local police on Saturday.

The unfortunate incident unfolded in the Anand Naga area, situated within Lucknow, specifically in a Railway colony under the jurisdiction of the Alambagh police station.

Joint DCP, Law and Order, Lucknow, Upendra Kumar Aggarwal, shared details of the incident, stating, “We received information about a house collapse in the railway colony of the Anand Nagar area, under the Alambagh police station in Lucknow. Five individuals were injured in the incident initially, but they were later rushed to a hospital, where medical professionals, unfortunately, declared them deceased.”

The house, as revealed by the Joint DCP, belonged to a former railway employee who had been residing there with their family.

While the incident occurred this morning, the reasons behind the tragic collapse are yet to be ascertained. It is noteworthy that the Railways Department had previously issued notices for residents to vacate the premises.

Upon receiving news of the incident, the Lucknow District Magistrate arrived at the scene to assess the situation. District Magistrate Surpal Gangwar expressed his sorrow, stating, “The incident is saddening. Five members of a family were asleep in the house located in the Railways Colony when, suddenly, it collapsed, claiming their lives. Officials are currently present at the site, and discussions are underway with the Railways officials. Nearby houses are also being inspected.”

Furthermore, DM Gangwar informed that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had taken notice of the situation and urged officials to extend all possible assistance to the affected locals. He stated, “CM Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the situation and instructed officials to promptly reach the location and provide all possible assistance to the affected residents. In addition, we are issuing notices to the locals residing in damaged houses within the colony.”

As the investigation continues, further details surrounding the incident remain pending.
