Authorities in Thane district, Maharashtra, have apprehended an individual suspected of perpetrating the kidnapping and tragic demise of a nine-year-old boy, reportedly for a ransom of Rs 23 lakh. Identified as Salman, the accused worked as a tailor in Goregaon Village, situated within the Badalpur area of Thane district, as per police sources.
Detailing the sequence of events, law enforcement officials disclosed that the suspect had seized the child, identified as Ibad, with the intention of demanding the hefty ransom. Concern mounted when Ibad failed to return home, prompting his family to initiate a search. Shortly thereafter, the child’s father received a ransom demand from the perpetrator.
“The news of Ibad’s disappearance had spread rapidly within the village, mobilizing both local residents and law enforcement personnel in a search effort,” stated police authorities.
Following a call made by the suspect to the victim’s family, law enforcement agencies successfully traced the perpetrator’s location. However, in a desperate attempt to evade capture, the accused allegedly perpetrated the heinous act and concealed the child’s body near his residence.
Upon pinpointing the suspect’s whereabouts, authorities conducted a thorough search, leading to the discovery of the victim’s remains. Subsequently, Salman was apprehended, and the child’s body was recovered from the scene.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted to delve into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
