Ranveer Singh Targeted by Deepfake: Caution Issued as Manipulated Video Surfaces

Amidst rising concerns over deepfake videos, actor Ranveer Singh finds himself entangled in the latest incident after a manipulated video surfaced online, purportedly featuring the actor expressing political views.

The video, seemingly authentic in visuals, captures moments from Ranveer’s recent visit to Varanasi. However, investigations reveal that the audio has been digitally altered using artificial intelligence technology to mimic the actor’s voice.

Ranveer, who recently graced an open-air fashion show alongside Kriti Sanon in Varanasi, shared his admiration for the city’s transformation and described his experience as ‘divine’. Despite the apparent authenticity of the clip, Ranveer took to his Instagram Story, cautioning his followers to beware of deepfakes.

While Ranveer navigates through this digital deception, he gears up for his upcoming projects. He is set to reprise his role as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, featuring an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Additionally, Ranveer is slated to headline Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’, scheduled for release in 2025. Farhan, in an announcement, urged audiences to extend the same affection to Ranveer as they did to the iconic characters portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan in previous ‘Don’ installments.
