The Rajasthan Congress has announced plans for a statewide protest on Friday in response to the mass suspension of opposition MPs who sought clarification on the recent security breach in Parliament. The protest, called by the All India Congress Committee, aims to condemn the “undemocratic decision” to suspend opposition lawmakers. Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra has instructed all District Congress committees in the state to participate in the demonstrations at their respective district headquarters. The protest is expected to draw significant participation from Congress members, including MPs, MLAs, party leaders, and public representatives.
The opposition MPs were suspended following disruptions in the Parliament after two individuals breached security on December 13, releasing smoke from canisters in the Lok Sabha chamber. The demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the security breach has fueled the disruptions, resulting in the suspension of a total of 143 members from both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha since December 14.
