Jaipur, August 17, 2023: With the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections on the horizon, the state’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a strategic step by unveiling two crucial committees to guide its campaign. The move signals the party’s intent to forge a robust path towards victory in the impending electoral battle.
The BJP’s state unit has formally introduced the Rajasthan BJP’s state manifesto committee and the Rajasthan election management committee, aimed at steering the party’s vision and operational strategies for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Distinguished Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Arjun Ram Meghwal, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Rajasthan BJP’s state manifesto committee. Assisting him in this pivotal role are co-conveners Lal Meena, Alka Gurjar, Ravi Rajendra Singh, Subhash Maurya, Prabhu Lal Saini, and Rakhi Rathore. This dynamic team is charged with shaping the party’s manifesto, a roadmap that will articulate the BJP’s vision for Rajasthan’s progress and development.
For the crucial task of election management, Narayan Pancharya has been named as the coordinator of the Rajasthan BJP’s state election management committee. Six accomplished co-coordinators are set to join Pancharya in orchestrating the party’s strategic and operational moves in the lead-up to the elections.
Notably, the absence of BJP National Vice-president and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s name from either of the Committees has sparked intrigue. Responding to queries regarding this omission, Union Minister and Rajasthan election in-charge Prahlad Joshi affirmed, “Vasundhara Raje is our very esteemed leader. We have involved her in many programmes and will continue to do so in the future.”
The electoral landscape in Rajasthan is shaping up to be a fierce contest, with the BJP and the incumbent Congress emerging as the main contenders. In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats, while the BJP secured 73 out of the 200-member House. The Congress, led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, managed to form the government with the support of Independents and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
As Rajasthan gears up for another round of democratic participation, the newly formed committees are expected to play a pivotal role in charting the BJP’s course and navigating the complexities of the electoral landscape. The state eagerly awaits the unfolding of this high-stakes political drama, set to unfold later this year.
