Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks on BJP, RSS, and Indian State Spark Controversy

New Delhi – Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has ignited a political storm with his recent statements accusing the BJP, RSS, and the Indian state of capturing national institutions. Speaking at the inauguration of the new Congress headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday, Gandhi alleged that the Congress party is not just battling political organizations but also facing unfair opposition from the state itself.

“Do not think that we are fighting a fair fight. The BJP and the RSS have captured every single institution of our country. We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian state itself,” Gandhi said. He also criticized RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s comment that India attained “true independence” after the consecration of the Ram temple, describing it as an insult to Indians and treasonous.

The remarks have drawn a sharp rebuke from the BJP, with party president J.P. Nadda accusing Gandhi of attacking the country’s sovereignty. “Rahul Gandhi’s ugly truth now stands exposed by his own words,” Nadda wrote on X. “Everything he does or says is aimed at breaking India and dividing society.”

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also condemned Gandhi’s comments, questioning how a Leader of Opposition could take an oath on the Constitution and then claim to fight the state. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri termed Gandhi’s remarks a result of “derailment of mental coordinates” and accused him of using a “Soros toolkit” to undermine the nation.

BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya alleged that Gandhi’s remarks were influenced by external entities, describing them as “straight out of George Soros’s playbook.” C.R. Kesavan, another BJP leader, called Gandhi’s statements anti-national and demanded an apology from both Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Kesavan alleged that Gandhi’s rhetoric was aimed at destabilizing India and linked his comments to external forces seeking to defame the nation. “Rahul Gandhi’s statements are a direct attack on India’s sovereignty and unity. The people of India will respond appropriately,” he said.

Gandhi’s criticism of the BJP and the RSS highlights the Congress party’s mounting frustration over alleged institutional bias, but it has also triggered a debate on political accountability and the limits of dissent in democratic discourse. The controversy underscores the deepening divide in India’s political landscape as both parties gear up for upcoming elections.
