Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day official visit to Paris, where he engaged in delegation-level talks with French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne on Monday. The visit coincided with the 25th anniversary of the “strategic partnership” between India and France.
Upon his arrival in Paris earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi received a warm ceremonial welcome at the airport. French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne personally greeted him upon his arrival, emphasizing the significance of the bilateral relations between the two nations.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi had the opportunity to meet with President of the French Senate, Gerard Larcher, at the Senate building. This meeting served as a platform to discuss various issues of mutual interest and strengthen ties between India and France.
Moreover, Prime Minister Modi was greeted with enthusiasm by members of the Indian diaspora in Paris, showcasing the strong bond between the two countries.
Adding to the significance of the visit, Prime Minister Modi will join French President Emmanuel Macron as the Guest of Honour for the French National Day in Paris on April 14. The occasion will witness the participation of an Indian tri-services contingent in the Bastille Day Parade, with the Indian Air Force conducting a spectacular fly-past.
The Prime Minister’s visit to France not only reinforces the longstanding relationship between India and France but also highlights the thriving “strategic partnership” that has developed over the past 25 years.
