During a day-long visit to Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a break from his busy schedule to visit the residence of the tenth-crore beneficiary of the Centre’s flagship Ujjwala Yojana. The visit, marked by warmth and cordiality, saw PM Modi exchanging pleasantries with the beneficiaries and inquiring about their well-being over tea.
As PM Modi walked through the narrow streets of the temple town, a large crowd gathered to greet him. The Prime Minister also took time to meet and take selfies with two children in Ayodhya, fulfilling their requests for autographs. A particularly touching moment occurred when PM Modi signed a painting presented to him by a young boy.
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), initiated in May 2016, aims to provide clean cooking fuel to poor households across the country. Adult women from economically disadvantaged households receive a deposit-free LPG connection under this scheme.
As part of the visit, PM Modi inaugurated several projects in Ayodhya ahead of the grand opening of the Ram Mandir on January 22. Projects included the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, new Amrit Bharat trains, and Vande Bharat trains. Notably, six Vande Bharat trains were inaugurated virtually by PM Modi from Ayodhya Dham Railway Station.
The day’s highlights also featured the inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport at Ayodhya Dham. The airport, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore, boasts state-of-the-art facilities, a terminal building showcasing the architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir, and various sustainability features.
Addressing the significance of the airport, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized its role in enhancing connectivity, promoting tourism, and generating employment opportunities in the region.
PM Modi’s comprehensive vision for Ayodhya includes the development of modern infrastructure, improved connectivity, and the revitalization of civic facilities while preserving the city’s rich history and heritage. This vision materializes through the inauguration of new airport facilities, a redeveloped railway station, widened and beautified roads, and other civic infrastructure projects. The foundation stones for additional projects will contribute to further beautification and enhancement of civic facilities in and around the temple town.
