Mumbai Customs Seizes Gold Worth Over 8 Crores in 13 Cases within 3 Days

The Mumbai Customs department, within a span of three days, seized over 15.89 kg of gold valued at approximately 8.07 crores across thirteen different cases, as revealed by the Airport Commissionerate in a recent statement.

The statement mentioned, “From Feb 27 to Mar 1, the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III seized over 15.89 kg Gold valued at 8.07 Cr across 13 different cases.”

The confiscated gold was found concealed in various hiding spots, including concealed clothes, on the passengers’ bodies, and in the corner piping of a check-in bag.

This recent seizure follows an earlier operation conducted from February 18 to 24, during which the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, seized over eight kg of gold valued at approximately Rs 4 crores, along with five iPhones, across eight different cases. The gold was hidden in the frame of a check-in bag, a box of crockery, worn clothes, and a handbag.
