The recent shooting outside the Bandra residence of Bollywood icon Salman Khan has escalated with the Mumbai Crime Branch assuming control of the case, as disclosed by Mumbai police authorities.
The incident unfolded on a Sunday morning when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle fired shots outside Khan’s residence, prompting swift police intervention.
Preliminary investigations suggest a meticulously planned attack, with the perpetrators concealing their identities under helmets. Four rounds were discharged during the incident, with a live cartridge recovered from the scene.
Senior police officials, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, promptly responded to oversee the investigation’s progress.
As the probe unfolds, fresh details have emerged, shedding light on the perpetrators’ activities and preparations.
It has been revealed that the suspects purchased an old car from the Raigad area, which they utilized for travel to Mumbai and the subsequent shooting. Authorities are now scrutinizing the vehicle’s sale and purchase process, questioning individuals linked to the case.
Furthermore, investigations indicate that the suspects intended to leave Mumbai soon after the attack. Their black motorcycle, used in the incident, was found parked near Mount Mary Church’s stairs, close to the Bandra police station.
The bike, registered in Panvel RTO with origins from Pen Tehsil in Raigad, has been seized by Mumbai police as part of their ongoing inquiry.

Khan’s security level had been elevated to Y-Plus since November 2022, following threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Additionally, Khan has been authorized to carry a personal firearm and has acquired an armored vehicle for added protection.
On the professional front, Salman Khan was last seen in the successful thriller “Tiger 3,” alongside Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. While he is reportedly set to appear in director Vishnuvardhan’s upcoming film “The Bull,” official confirmation is pending.
