The recent shooting incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai, has seen a significant development as Mumbai police officials confirm the transfer of the case to the Mumbai Crime Branch.
The incident, which unfolded on a Sunday morning, involved two unidentified assailants firing shots outside Khan’s residence, prompting swift response from law enforcement.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the attackers arrived on a motorcycle, concealing their identities with helmets, suggesting a premeditated assault. Four rounds were discharged during the incident, and a live cartridge was recovered from the scene.
Senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police, swiftly arrived at the scene to oversee the ongoing investigation.
As details emerge, it has been disclosed that the suspects had purchased a used car from the Raigad area, which they utilized for transportation to Mumbai and during the shooting incident. Authorities are currently scrutinizing the transaction history of the vehicle and interrogating relevant individuals.
Additionally, it has been uncovered that the perpetrators intended to flee Mumbai shortly after the incident. Their motorcycle, utilized in the attack, was discovered parked near Mount Mary Church stairs, in proximity to the Bandra police station. The bike, registered with Panvel RTO and originating from Pen Tehsil in Raigad, has been confiscated by Mumbai police as part of the investigation.

Since November 2022, Khan’s security has been escalated to Y-Plus status due to threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Khan has been authorized to carry a personal firearm and has acquired an armored vehicle for heightened protection.
