Mukesh Ambani Tops Hurun Global Rich List 2025, India Ranks Third in Billionaire Count

Despite a ₹1 trillion drop in his wealth, Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) remains Asia’s richest person, with a fortune of ₹8.6 trillion, according to the Hurun Global Rich List 2025. He narrowly leads Gautam Adani, whose wealth increased by 13% to ₹8.4 trillion, securing his position as India’s second-richest person.

India’s Billionaire Ranking:

  • 3rd globally with 284 billionaires, behind the USA and China.
  • 13 new billionaires were added this year.

Total Wealth of Indian Billionaires:

  • ₹98 trillion – approximately one-third of India’s GDP and exceeding Saudi Arabia’s entire GDP.
  • 175 billionaires saw their wealth increase, while 109 experienced either no change or a decline.
