Bengaluru, Jan 7 (PTI) – In its largest expansion in India to date, Microsoft will invest $3 billion to bolster cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure across the country, according to Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella.
Speaking on Tuesday, Nadella highlighted the “fantastic momentum” in India’s technology landscape, with a strong push for innovative deployments.
“I am really excited to announce the single largest expansion we have ever done in India by putting $3 billion additional dollars to expand our Azure capacity,” Nadella stated, emphasizing the regional growth efforts in the country.
The investment aligns with Microsoft’s mission to empower individuals and organizations in India, particularly by addressing the nation’s growing demand for AI and cloud services.
Nadella also announced Microsoft’s commitment to train 10 million people in AI skills by 2030, supporting the nation’s technological workforce development.
“Our aim is to ensure that the human capital of this country scales and leverages the immense opportunities technology offers,” Nadella said.
The announcement underscores Microsoft’s long-term vision for India, positioning the country as a critical hub for cloud and AI innovation.
