Arvind Kejriwal’s spouse, Sunita Kejriwal, is set to join the “Nyay Ulgulan Rally” organized by the INDIA bloc in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on April 21, as per party insiders. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP MP Sanjay Singh are also slated to participate in the rally.
Prior to this event, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) convened a meeting to discuss arrangements for the rally. Attendees included Kalpana Soren, a prominent figure within the JMM and wife of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with Ghulam Ahmed Mir, the Congress state in-charge, state president Rajesh Thakur, and other notable leaders.
Kalpana Soren, following a gathering with party workers on April 6, emphasized the significance of the Ulgulan Rally and urged strong participation. The rally, scheduled at Prabhat Tara Ground on April 21, aims to protest the arrest of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
During media interactions after the meeting, Kalpana Soren stressed the need for alliance solidarity and highlighted perceived discrimination by the central government against Jharkhand, citing the incarceration of Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal.
Sanjay Singh of the AAP, echoing concerns about the upcoming elections, warned of potential constitutional changes under a BJP-led government, claiming that it could signify the end of elections and reservation rights, particularly for youth, farmers, and women.
The upcoming Jharkhand elections will be conducted in four phases, spanning May 13, 20, 25, and June 1. In the previous 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 12 seats in Jharkhand, with the BJP winning 11, while the JMM and Congress each secured one seat.
