Intelligence Agencies Probe Illegal Entry of Pakistani Woman into India

Central intelligence agencies have requested a report from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Uttar Pradesh Police regarding Seema Haider, who illegally entered India through Nepal to reach Noida from Pakistan’s Karachi. It was confirmed by a senior official that the agencies were alerted about Haider, who crossed the border to marry and live with her Indian partner. As a result, they have requested a detailed report from the SSB and UP Police.

Haider had crossed over to India to live with Sachin Meena, whom she had befriended through an online game. The couple started living together in Greater Noida. However, Haider was arrested on July 4 for illegally entering India without a visa, while Meena was detained for sheltering an illegal immigrant.

“The intelligence agencies have requested a report from the SSB and UP Police to determine how she managed to cross the border without being verified by police personnel. We have also demanded a report from the UP Police since she entered India through the UP border and stayed with her partner for an extended period,” stated the official.

The official further added that they are currently verifying the claims Haider made in television interviews regarding her journey and are investigating who assisted her in arriving in India from Pakistan.

“We are also seeking assistance from a technical team to verify her story of arrival in India. Additionally, we are attempting to gather as much information as possible about her background,” the official revealed.

It is worth noting that the SSB is primarily responsible for guarding the borders of Nepal and Bhutan. Unlike other borders, the borders with Nepal and Bhutan are not fenced.

“People from both countries cross the border on a daily basis. Border guarding forces keep a watch on movement, but due to multiple entries, it is impossible to monitor every person,” explained another officer.

On Monday, a team from the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) questioned Seema Haider in Noida as part of the ongoing investigation.
