Indian Businessman Owns 22 Apartments in Burj Khalifa, Becomes Tower’s Largest Private Owner

In a remarkable testament to entrepreneurial ambition, Indian-origin businessman George V. Nereamparambil has emerged as the largest private owner of residential units in the iconic Burj Khalifa, with ownership of 22 luxury apartments in the world’s tallest building.

Nereamparambil, who hails from Kerala, India, built his fortune after moving to the United Arab Emirates in 1976, where he founded a successful air conditioning enterprise in response to the region’s soaring temperatures. His business, the GEO Group of Companies, has since diversified into various sectors and is now a well-established name across the Middle East.

His path to property dominance in the Burj Khalifa began after a family member reportedly challenged him, saying he would never be allowed inside the ultra-luxurious skyscraper. Taking it as motivation, Nereamparambil not only rented a unit in the building but began purchasing more — eventually amassing a portfolio of 22 apartments, many of which are said to feature gold-plated interiors, from floors to ceilings.

A single-bedroom residence in the Burj Khalifa can cost more than ₹42 lakh per year (approximately $50,000), making ownership in the building a privilege afforded only to a global elite.

Now estimated to have a net worth exceeding ₹4,800 crore (approximately $575 million), Nereamparambil is one of the wealthiest property holders in the tower. His journey began modestly, working from a young age to support his family in Kerala by helping transport cash crops and engaging in small-scale business ventures. His success story — from humble beginnings to owning a significant slice of one of the world’s most prestigious addresses — has been widely hailed as a symbol of determination and business acumen.

Nereamparambil has previously stated that he views his investments not just as a symbol of status, but as a reminder that “nothing is impossible” for those willing to dream big and work relentlessly.

The Burj Khalifa, a defining feature of Dubai’s skyline, is home to hundreds of luxury residences, as well as the Armani Hotel, corporate suites, and observation decks that attract millions of visitors annually.
