Human Trafficking Arrests Made in Madhya Pradesh; Woman Rescued in Chhatarpur Operation

Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district reported the arrest of four individuals, including two women, in connection with an alleged human trafficking case on Friday. The incident, registered under the Civil Line police station, prompted officials to file a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Thursday.

According to officials, the case involved a woman from Jharkhand who was brought to Chhatarpur under the pretext of securing employment and was subsequently sold to another individual. The police, acting on information received from an informant, swiftly intervened, rescued the victim, and apprehended the suspects.

Vikram Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), stated, “We received information about a woman, a resident of Jharkhand, who later lodged a complaint that a few people brought her from Jharkhand in exchange for providing her a job and later they sold her to another person.” The police registered a case under IPC sections 370, 371, 376, and 506 based on the complaint. All four suspects were presented before the court.

The investigation is ongoing, and further actions will be taken based on the facts revealed in the probe, added ASP Vikram Singh.
