Hindu Activists Threaten Hotel Staff Over Halal Food in Karnataka’s Bhadravathi, Five Arrested

Tension flared in Karnataka’s Bhadravathi town after a group of Hindu activists allegedly threatened hotel staff, demanding that halal food should not be served on the premises. The incident, which involved intimidation and an assault on a customer, was captured on CCTV footage and has since led to multiple arrests.

According to police sources, around 10 to 15 activists entered a local hotel and confronted the staff, objecting to the preparation and sale of halal food. Eyewitness accounts and CCTV recordings show the group issuing threats and creating a scene inside the establishment, causing panic among workers and customers.

An argument reportedly broke out when a customer questioned the activists’ actions, leading to a physical attack on the individual. The situation escalated briefly before hotel staff alerted the authorities.

Police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation based on CCTV evidence and witness statements. Five people have since been arrested in connection with the incident, while efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend others involved.

Law enforcement officials said the accused will be booked under relevant sections of the law for criminal intimidation, assault, and disturbing public order. They also assured residents that action would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt communal harmony or impose unlawful restrictions on businesses.
