Congress Attributes Ladakh Council Election Success to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’

The recent elections for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) in Kargil have witnessed significant victories for the Congress party. According to Congress leaders, this success can be directly attributed to Rahul Gandhi’s leadership during the “Bharat Jodo Yatra.”

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also commented on the media’s coverage, suggesting that national media may not give it adequate attention. However, he pointed out that early trends indicate a convincing lead for Congress in the LAHDC elections, potentially leading to a near-complete ousting of the BJP.

Ramesh stated, “This is a direct result of Rahul Gandhi’s recent ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Ladakh, which had a significant impact on the outcome.”

As the vote counting is still in progress, it has been reported that the National Conference and Congress have collectively secured 17 seats in the LAHDC polls. Out of the 26 seats contested on October 4, the results for 20 seats have been declared thus far.
