Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Congress on Friday following a viral social media post by a former Pakistan minister lauding Rahul Gandhi, coinciding with the announcement of Rahul Gandhi and KL Sharma as Congress candidates for Raebareli and Amethi respectively.
Referring to the viral post by Fawad Chaudhary, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Yogi asserted that it provided evidence of Congress collaborating with India’s adversaries.
In a strongly worded statement to ANI, Yogi remarked, “The viral post underscores the lengths to which our enemies will go to disrupt the progress and unity fostered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our adversaries are attempting to sow discord when the nation stands united behind PM Modi. It’s evident how they are promoting Rahul Gandhi, with a former Pakistani PM, previously supportive of the Pulwama terror attack, endorsing him. This indicates that the ‘Congress Ka Hath, Desh Ke Dushmano Ke Sath’ (The Congress is with the enemies of the country).”
He further stated, “If PM Modi secures victory in the general elections, it will bring early celebrations across the nation. Conversely, a Congress triumph, either now or in the future, will be celebrated in Pakistan. The people must comprehend our enemies’ ulterior motives.”
Yogi accused the Congress of attempting to divide the nation along religious and caste lines for political gains, highlighting the party’s departure from its post-independence principles.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya ridiculed Rahul’s candidature from Raebareli, citing his loss in Amethi and subsequent contest from Wayanad. Maurya expressed confidence in BJP’s victory across constituencies, including Amethi, Raebareli, and Kannauj.
