Amid clashes that erupted on Monday between two groups in Haryana, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mamta Singh stated on Tuesday that the main affected area was Nuh, and no major incidents have been reported outside of Nuh.
In an interview with ANI, ADGP Singh mentioned, “Nuh was the main affected area…outside Nuh, no big incidents have happened…there were small incidents of violence, we have registered FIRs and an investigation is underway.” ADGP Singh also urged the public to provide any information that might aid in the investigation.
A curfew has been imposed in the Nuh area following the clashes, with heavy police deployment in Nuh district and nearby regions. Section 144 has been enforced in certain places, and authorities have registered around 44 FIRs and taken 70 individuals into custody. The Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, reacted to the violence on Tuesday, expressing concern over the “unfortunate” incident and suspecting a “big conspiracy” behind the clashes.
The clashes resulted in the deaths of five people, including two home guards who were shot dead during the confrontation. The injured personnel are currently receiving treatment at Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital. In response to the situation, mobile internet services in Nuh district will remain suspended until August 2, and educational institutions in Gurugram will be closed on Tuesday. Authorities are taking strict action against those involved in the violence and are appealing to locals to maintain peace in the district.
