Chemical Factory Fire in Surat Leaves 24 Injured, Three in Critical Condition

In a distressing incident, 24 individuals sustained injuries following a fire outbreak at a chemical factory in Surat, Gujarat, on Wednesday. Reports indicate that three of the injured individuals are in critical condition.

The fire erupted in the early hours at a factory located in the Sachin GIDC area of Surat. Upon receiving information, the fire department promptly dispatched fire tenders to the scene. The firefighting efforts involved over a dozen vehicles from both the fire brigade and private companies.

Basant Pareek, Chief Fire Officer in Surat, stated that an initial investigation revealed an explosion in a tank filled with the chemical Tetra Hydro Fern. The three individuals with severe injuries are currently receiving treatment at the government hospital in Surat, while others have been admitted to three different private hospitals.

The incident is under further investigation to determine the cause and assess the extent of the damage.
