BJP Workers Protest Against Mamata Banerjee Over Sandeshkhali Incident

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists, including members of the party’s Mahila Morcha and Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai, expressed their discontent by burning an effigy of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday in response to the Sandeshkhali incident. The protest, held at the board office square in the city, involved raising slogans against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Malti Rai criticized Banerjee, stating that women are facing mistreatment in her state, and as a woman Chief Minister, she should be ashamed of the situation. The BJP activists also staged a demonstration at Phoolbagh Square in Gwalior district, demanding justice for the Sandeshkhali incident. Abhay Chaudhary, BJP District President, emphasized the party’s nationwide protest against the alleged atrocities in West Bengal and called for capital punishment for the accused. Sandeshkhali had witnessed protests against Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shahjahan Sheikh, with women accusing him of land-grab and sexual assault. Sheikh was arrested in connection with an alleged assault on ED officers, and the Trinamool Congress suspended him for six years.
