BJP Worker Found Dead in West Bengal’s Purulia District Ahead of Panchayat Elections

Purulia: A 45-year-old BJP worker was discovered dead in a field in West Bengal’s Purulia district on Monday, according to the police.

The body of Bankim Hansda (45) was found in a paddy field near his residence in Kendadi village, Manbazar, the authorities stated.

“He had been missing since Sunday evening, and today his body was discovered in the field,” said a police officer.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated, the officer confirmed.

To maintain law and order in the area, a substantial police presence has been deployed, he added.

It is important to note that the rural areas of West Bengal are scheduled to hold panchayat elections on July 8.
