The central leadership of the BJP is directing its full attention towards the state unit as it strives to achieve Mission-25 in the state. Prime Minister Modi’s visits are injecting momentum into areas where party campaigning may need a boost. During his election tours, PM Modi emphasizes his personal participation in the electoral process and addresses concerns among party workers and leaders.
On Friday, PM Modi provided a significant boost to the BJP’s campaign by visiting the fiercely contested constituencies of Barmer-Jaisalmer in western Rajasthan and Dausa in the east.
Ahead of the Barmer meeting, the BJP’s central leadership engaged in social engineering, accommodating various faces on Modi’s platform. The return of Manvendra Singh, the political successor of former Union Minister Jaswant Singh Jasol, to the BJP was a strategic move aimed at sending a message to the Rajput community about its importance to the party. Manvendra, the sole BJP leader from the Rajput community to have won from this seat, holds considerable influence in the region. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Jaswant Singh demonstrated his strength by contesting as an independent candidate.
Additionally, Modi’s 50-minute roadshow in Dausa not only focused on the Dausa constituency but also targeted neighboring seats. Reports of dissatisfaction among BJP Minister Dr. KirodiLal Meena regarding this seat prompted Modi to emphasize party unity by showcasing Dr. Meena alongside Dausa candidate Kanhaiyalal Meena in an open vehicle throughout the roadshow. Dr. Meena was entrusted with the sole responsibility for the Dausa seat.
Modi’s demonstration of closeness to Dr. KirodiLal Meena during the Dausa roadshow further energized BJP workers and the public, reaching a crescendo of enthusiasm.
