Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Sanctum-Sanctorum Nears Completion, Trust Announces

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is swiftly progressing towards completion, with the sanctum-sanctorum almost finished, as per an announcement by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Saturday.

The Trust shared recent images of the ongoing construction of the Ram Temple, revealing the near-completion of the temple’s sanctum-sanctorum. Trust General Secretary Champat Rai stated, “The sanctum sanctorum of Lord Shri Ramlala is almost ready. Recently, the lighting-fitting work has also been completed. I am sharing some photographs with you.”

The consecration ceremony for Ram Lalla (infant Lord Ram) is scheduled for January 22 next year, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony will commence on January 16, a week prior to the main event.

Vedic priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit from Varanasi will conduct the main rituals for the consecration ceremony on January 22. Ayodhya will observe the Amrit Mahautsav from January 14 to January 22, including a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya to feed thousands of devotees.

Preparations are underway for the influx of devotees during the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, with several tent cities being set up in Ayodhya. The Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust plans to accommodate 10,000-15,000 people, and local authorities are enhancing security measures and logistical arrangements to ensure a seamless and spiritually enriching experience for attendees.
