Ayodhya Transforming into Global Hub, Says Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia declared Saturday as a historic day as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visions for Ayodhya materialize, propelling the city to prominence on the world map. Noting that Ayodhya is emerging as a global spiritual power, Scindia highlighted the significance of January 22 as PM Modi inaugurated several transformative projects.

Speaking specifically about the newly inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, Scindia emphasized the airport’s adherence to global standards. Built at a cost of Rs 500 crore, the airport is poised to welcome nearly 10 lakh pilgrims annually. Scindia revealed PM Modi’s plan for the airport’s second phase, which includes expanding the runway to accommodate Boeing 777 and Airbus 350 landings.

Scindia also outlined the airport’s sustainability features, including an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, and a solar power plant, earning it a GRIHA 5-star rating. The airport is expected to enhance connectivity, boost tourism and business activities, and generate new employment opportunities in the region.

Highlighting the importance of air connectivity for Ayodhya, AAI Chairman Sanjeev Kumar expressed excitement about the airport’s expansion, completed in a record time of 20 months. He emphasized that the airport’s development aligns with PM Modi’s vision for modern, world-class infrastructure in Ayodhya, contributing to its overall growth.

The newly inaugurated airport, part of Ayodhya’s transformation initiatives, will serve as a gateway for pilgrims and tourists visiting the historic city and nearby pilgrim destinations. The expansion plans under Phase 2 include a new terminal building, a runway extension, and additional parking stands, reinforcing Ayodhya’s status as a key pilgrimage site and promoting economic development in the region.
