Arrest Made in Rajasthan Wedding Rape Case: Accused Identified as Anil Kumar Meena

The Rajasthan Police announced the arrest of Anil Kumar Meena, the accused in the rape case of a six-year-old girl during a wedding ceremony in Dausa, Rajasthan. The incident occurred the previous day, and the arrest was confirmed by the police on Saturday.

Bajrang Singh Shekhawat, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dausa, provided details on the investigation, stating, “The incident of rape with a six-year-old girl came to light yesterday during a marriage ceremony at the Marriage garden under the Kotwali police station area in Rajasthan’s Dausa.” He mentioned the swift response, forming Special Investigation Teams (SIT) and deploying nearly 250 police personnel for the inquiry. Approximately 500 individuals, including ceremony guests, were interrogated, and local residents were also questioned.

The accused, Anil Kumar Meena, was identified through CCTV footage. An IIT graduate with a background in polytechnology, Meena is a resident of a nearby colony and reportedly an alcoholic. The investigation revealed that he took advantage of the situation when the victim’s family was leaving the wedding venue. Under the guise of taking the girl out, he went to her room, committed the crime, and fled the scene, leaving the victim in an unconscious state. Meena later confessed to the crime during the investigation.
